About Melissa Faber
Melissa Faber, MSN, WHCNP-BC, is an enthusiastic advanced practice nurse at The Association for Women's Health Care in The Loop in Chicago and Northbrook, Illinois. Ambitious and dedicated, her mission is to provide patients with high-quality care.
She has over 18 years of experience in the nursing field, including 11 years as a nurse practitioner.
Melissa graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) in New Orleans with her Bachelor of Science in nursing. Soon after, she achieved her Master of Science as a women’s health nurse practitioner at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC).
Melissa began working as a registered nurse at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas, caring for critically ill children. She administered chemotherapy and other medications while educating patients and families on various oncologic and hematological diseases, appropriate medications, home care, and emergency situations.
Melissa relocated to Wheaton, Illinois, where she worked as a public health nurse at DuPage County Health Department. She educated and counseled women on family planning, contraception, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and pregnancy.
In 2009, she became a women’s health nurse practitioner (WHNP) for a large OB/GYN practice with high volume. At the Women’s Group of Northwestern in Chicago, Melissa performed well-women annual exams and STD screenings. She educated patients on the importance of contraception management and saw low-risk obstetric patients.
In 2015, Melissa began working part-time as a WHNP at Elmhurst Clinic located in Elmhurst. She is responsible for seeing patients and patient follow-up regarding wellness checks and test results. She performs well-woman annual exams, STD screenings, and evaluations for AUB. Melissa also helps to guide patients in the management of contraception and menopause.
Melissa looks forward to sharing her skills and years of experience with The Association for Women’s Health Care. She warmly welcomes all patients to the practice.
