Kimberly Laughman, MD, is a highly accomplished OB/GYN based in The Loop, Chicago, Illinois, known for her commitment to medical excellence and a passion for education and research. Dr. Laughman earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons. She also holds a Master of Science in Teaching Adolescent Science from Pace University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Columbia College of Columbia University.

As a dedicated researcher, Dr. Laughman has contributed significantly to the medical community. She was part of the Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons Scholarly Projects Program, conducting clinical research focused on predicting preterm labor in late preterm gestation. As part of the Daniel Noyes Brown Scholars Research Program, she played a crucial role in implementing adolescent health and sexual health training within medical student clinical rotations. During her time as an undergraduate researcher in the René Hen Laboratory of Columbia University Medical Center, Dr. Laughman conducted neurobiological research, delving into hippocampal memory retrieval.

Her dedication to her field is evident through her experience as a Resident Physician in the Northwestern McGaw OB/GYN Residency Program. Dr. Laughman is actively involved in resident and medical student education, emphasizing the importance of knowledge sharing.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Laughman is deeply committed to serving her community. She worked at Columbia University Medical Center State Pre-College Enrichment Program, teaching biology lessons to underrepresented minority high school students interested in STEM fields. She also co-founded the Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons Breaking the Silence Discussion Series and served as the Vice-President of the Black & Latino Student Organization. 

Dr. Laughman has been recognized with several honors and awards, including the Daniel Noyes Brown Scholar distinction and the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award. In her free time, Dr. Laughman enjoys darkroom photography, travel, soccer, journaling, and baking.
